Phnom Penh, 17 August 2019 – AIA (Cambodia) Life Insurance Plc (“AIA Cambodia”) held their 2nd Half Kick-off event today, a bi-annual seminar that aims to celebrate AIA Life Planners’ positive impact on Cambodians’ lives and to motivate them to help even more people in the future. The event was held at The Great Duke Phnom Penh Hotel and was attended by a variety of high-level AIA executives, including Regional Chief Executive (“RCE”) Tan Hak Leh, as well as AIA Cambodia CEO Pauline Teoh and Chief Agency Officer (“CAO”) Samreth Muny.
Under the theme of “Bigger, Better and Different,” the event began with a performance review of the first half of the year. Under the “Bigger” theme, notable achievements included a growth of 422% in the Agency Distribution’s size compared to last year. “Better” refers to the significant improvements in customer experience, information-management capability, underwriting rules and the launch of the new Additional Accident Benefits–Cambodia’s first life insurance solution to offer accident coverage and medical allowance with overseas emergency assistance. Meanwhile, the “Difference” theme was highlighted by a Faster Career Progression Growth initiative, a distinctive support and incentive system for AIA Life Planners to achieve their goals and better serve their customers.
AIA Cambodia also announced the winners of their Life Planner Awards for the 2019 Premier Club that included 54 achievers. Among them, there was a big proportion of Million Dollar Round Table (“MDRT”) members and also 2 qualifiers for the Court of the Table (“COT”)—Cambodia’s first ever representatives from the insurance industry and coming just 2 years after AIA Cambodia’s official launch.
MDRT membership is recognised internationally as the standard of excellence in the life insurance and financial services industries, and is awarded based on exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct and extraordinary client service. To qualify for COT membership, LPs must earn three times the base production requirement of MDRT members.
Mrs. Keo Sochenda, one of the two COT qualifiers, said: “I was so delighted that I had qualified for the COT 2019. It just goes to show that if we work hard every day and strive for the best for our fellow Cambodians’ wellbeing, we can achieve international recognition, particularly at an international company like AIA.”
Commenting on this year’s incredible development, AIA Cambodia CEO Pauline Teoh said: “It is wonderful to see how far AIA Cambodia has come in the last year. The number of Life Planners has grown immensely, and to already have Life Planners attaining entry to the Court of Table, particularly as AIA only launched in the country roughly two years ago, to me shows incredible progress. With more support readily available from AIA Cambodia and Group, I now look forward to witnessing an even bigger, better and different impact to Cambodians’ lives from our AIA Life Planners.”
