Phnom Penh, 21 July 2019 – 15 lucky Cambodians have been selected by AIA (Cambodia) Life Insurance Plc (“AIA Cambodia”) to receive a once-in-a-lifetime trip to watch Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (“Spurs”) take on Italian champion Juventus Football Club (“Juventus”) in Singapore on 21 July 2019. The winners were awarded their prize after entering a joint promotion from AIA Cambodia and Spurs that offered Cambodian people the chance to access unique, world-class football experiences.
As part of the programme, anyone who started their AIA Cambodia’s market-leading life insurance solutions between 15 March and 30 June 2019 was placed in lucky prize draws to find the eventual 15 winners who will enjoy the trip, covered by AIA Cambodia.
The winners, together with AIA staff and Life Planners, departed for Singapore this morning for what is expected to be a scintillating match in the International Champions Cup presented by AIA. This annual football tournament includes the world’s most prestigious teams that usually takes place in Europe, South America or, like this year, Asia.
One of the winners, said: “I was so delighted when I found out that I had won the lucky draw for the trip to Singapore. It is not often that we get to experience world-class football events like this, so I would like to say a big thank you to AIA for this amazing opportunity.”
AIA is the Global Principle Partner of Spurs, a prestigious football club in the English Premier League. As part of their agreement with AIA, Spurs have permanently based three of their International Development Coaches within Asia to assist AIA in helping children and adults develop their football skills while promoting healthier and more active lifestyles – a core pillar of AIA’s brand promise of helping people live healthier, longer, better lives.
This programme is just the latest in a long series of football-related initiatives AIA Cambodia and Spurs have organised in recent months and which are set to continue throughout the rest of the year and beyond. A separate strand of this most recent programme also awarded 24 Cambodian children scholarships to a world-class training programme at an Elite Football Camp in Phuket, Thailand, set to begin on 27 July 2019. The children will be trained by the world-class Spurs coaches on football skills, nutrition and the mindset required for success.
AIA Cambodia management Pauline Teoh said: “We are delighted that we can welcome our new customers with our leading life insurance solutions, and for the 15 lucky draw winners, a special trip to experience a world-class football event, thanks to our partnership with Spurs. Everyone at AIA Cambodia hopes each winner has an incredible time in Singapore.”
